1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and hold an active Australian bank account with PayID enabled to use our Scan and Pay service.
2. Service Overview
Scan and Pay allows users to make fast, secure payments by scanning a QR code generated at a POS terminal or by entering payment details manually. Payments are processed via your bank’s application using PayID. Once payment is completed, our system uses the Open Banking API to verify the transaction, and the POS terminal receives instant confirmation.
3. User Responsibilities
By using www.scanandpay.com.au, you agree to:
Enter accurate payment details before confirming any transaction.
Use only your own bank account and credentials.
Ensure your mobile device and bank app are secure.
Confirm the payment amount is correct before finalising the payment.
4. Payment Processing
All transactions are processed directly through your bank’s secure application using PayID. We do not collect or store your banking login credentials. Once verified, payments are final and non-reversible unless otherwise resolved by your bank.
5. Payment Verification
Our system uses Basiq API, a regulated Open Banking service, to verify the payment status in real time. The POS terminal automatically receives a confirmation once the payment is verified.
6. Liability and Disputes
www.scanandpay.com.au is not liable for:
Payment errors due to incorrect PayID or manual entry mistakes.
Disputes between buyers and merchants regarding products or services.
Bank network delays or transaction failures beyond our control.
7. Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Any data processed through our system is used solely to facilitate secure and efficient transaction verification. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and features on www.scanandpay.com.au are the property of Scan and Pay or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the website or service without prior written consent.
9. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Scan and Pay service for:
Fraudulent or illegal transactions.
Circumventing system security.
Violating any applicable Australian laws or financial regulations.
10. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on www.scanandpay.com.au. Continued use of the platform constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to your account or restrict usage of the Scan and Pay service at our sole discretion, especially in the event of misuse or breach of these terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of VIC, Australia.
